Well, the Bryan’s didn’t get their chance today to avenge their Olympics loss, but they did have the opportunity to put the USA in front in this quarter final tie. They did just that, with a straight sets victory, over the Chilean pairing of Garcia/Capdeville. Two minutes past the hour mark, the bouncing Byrans clinched the doubles rubber, after an exceedingly dominating performance 6-1, 6-2, 6-4.
The Bryans had a high first serve percentage of 78% and between them hit nine aces. They outclassed their opponents in every statistic.
This victory is the Bryan’s eigth together in Davis Cup, but more importantly it gives the US a 2-1 lead going into Sunday’s final day of play. Hoping to clinch the tie will be Andy Roddick, as he is up first against Fernando Gonzalez.
