Miami Update: A Day Off

By reaching the quarterfinals of the Nasdaq-100 Open in a grueling victory against Germany’s Simon Greul, Andy earned himself a day off Wednesday. For most 23 year olds, a day off in Miami during the height of Spring Break would bear mischief. But for the fourth seed in the second largest tennis tournament in the United States, a day off, is a well deserved day off.

Don’t jump to conclusions though, even a day off still includes some quality tennis. In the heat of the day, Andy hit the practice court at 1:00 PM. We caught up with trainer Doug Spreen who was all smiles before the hitting session. “It’s all good,” Doug smiled as he prepared to join Andy on court. Both Doug and John agreed the group would lay low, grab diner at a local favorite and rest up tomorrow’s highly anticipated match.
