Some last minute scouting is in order for Andy, as he prepares to face qualifier, Simon Greul on Tuesday. Greul, from Germany, has already scalped some top players this week, taking out Hrbaty, Srichaphan and Henman.
When asked about his next opponent, Andy commented:
“I know who he’s beaten here. I know what he looks like now. You know he’s beaten three really, really tough players, all in, you know, tough matches. So he’s in form, he’s got nothing to lose.”
Simon Greul had a ‘meet the press’ today after his victory over Tim Henman. Everyone was eager to find out more from this German star who is having one of the best weeks of his tennis career. Speaking before Andy played, Greul, who is one year Andy’s senior, was hoping the home favourite would pull off a win:
“It would be great to play against Andy here in Miami. He’s number, I don’t know, 3 or 4 in the world. I think it would be a great experience for me, and I would like to play him.”
