2006 Indian Wells Draw Release

The draw has been made for the eagerly awaited first Masters Series event of the year. The Pacific Life Open boasts a draw of 88 players, with all the seeds receiving first round byes.

Seeded at number three, Andy finds himself in the bottom half of the draw and separate from world number one, Roger Federer. In the second round Andy will face either Jose Acasuso of Argentina, or a qualifier. As the Pacific Life Open
web site states, this tournament marks the first time this year that the world’s five highest ranked players will all compete together, and it certainly has produced some mouthwatering possibilities.

Pitted in Andy’s quarter are Fernando Gonzalez, Tommy Robredo, Tommy Haas, Las Vegas champion James Blake and American legend, Andre Agassi. Should the draw go to seeding Andy would find himself up against Agassi in the quarter finals.
Also figuring in the bottom half of the draw are Gaston Gaudio, Marcos Baghdatis, Lleyton Hewitt and Dubai winner, Rafael Nadal.

The main draw first round action gets under way on Friday with Andy coming in to play in the second round. Stay tuned to AR.com for all the latest news on Andy in California, including his second round match preview. Go Andy!
