Desert Fun: Andy Heads to Indian Wells

Located in the Palm Springs area between the Palm Desert and La Quinta, Indian Wells is home to only an estimated 4000 people, but 4000 affluent people. The city has the highest proportion of millionaires of any city in the United States.

Although it’s not a very huge community, Indian Wells has a lot going on. It has a beautiful Desert Town Hall comprised of local citizens, businessmen and civic leaders, all of whom help run a very well known speaker program. The Frank Sinatra Tournament and the Dyson and Dyson Challenge Cup are two of the most popular golf tournaments here. The popular Palm Springs International Film Festival is also held in Indian Wells. It features short films and small market movies, giving small time Hollywood wannabes the chance to live out their dreams.

Among tennis fans, the city is most popular for being the host of the Pacific Life Open, one of nine Masters Series Events on the ATP tour. A $75 million facility featuring a 16,100 seat stadium is a delight for fans and players alike. When visiting the Pacific Life Open, tennis players take advantage of the near bye attractions including high end outlet shopping malls and Indian casinos.

Andy has never been shy to enjoy his surroundings. Check back to Ar.com all of Andy’s adventures at the Pacific Life Open in Indian Wells.
