Andy’s Journal Entry #3 - 2004 Aussie Open

Andy Roddick journal entry from USA Today

It’s always nice to get through the first match at a Grand Slam, then you have a couple of days to get into a routine. Great to see a few other Americans get through the first round, also. Hopefully all nine of us can keep going. (USA men alive after Tuesday, Australian time: Roddick, Taylor Dent, Todd Martin, James Blake, Andre Agassi, Robby Ginepri, Jeff Morrison, Glenn Weiner.)

Since I had (Tuesday) off, (coach) Brad (Gilbert) and I went to the site and had a good practice, then I spent some time relaxing at the hotel.

We found a great Tex-Mex restaurant in Melbourne, oddly enough. Doesn’t quite compare to the places in Austin, but it’ll have to do. Another tricky match today (Roddick defeated Bohdan Ulihrach 6-2, 6-2, 6-3, Tuesday ET).
