After wearing his heart on his sleeve and pulling through for the USA this weekend in Davis Cup, Andy is all set to take on Guillermo Garcia Lopez in the first round of the defense of his San Jose title.
Andy’s tournament gets under way on Tuesday as he takes on the 22 year old Spaniard under the stars in San Jose. The pair has never met before at the professional level, so this is very much their first date.
Garcia Lopez has enjoyed a bright start to the year, his highlight being his semi final run in Delray Beach. Here are some more stats on him courtesy of the ATP

Andy will be full of confidence after helping the USA on their way to the Davis Cup quarter finals and will be looking to score with some aggressive play tomorrow against the Spaniard.
Andy, the number one seed, is popular wherever he plays and his passionate play has won him fans all over the world. His fans will be demonstrating the same passion and will, no doubt, be out in force to watch him play on Tuesday night. Andy’s female fans have been well publicized in their support for Andy so far this year and his smoldering good looks will most likely be raising temperatures off the courts on Valentine’s Day in California.
Andy will take on Garcia-Lopez first in the night session on Tuesday, with play beginning at 7pm local time (10pm Eastern).
Good Luck, Andy!
