Blake Keeps US Hopes Alive

James Blake has leveled the Davis Cup tie between USA and Romania after a three
set victory over Victor Hanescu 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-2.

After the draw ceremony on Thursday, Andy expressed how pleased he was to have
James on the team,

“He’s on the spot. He played great in the last four or five months of last year
and he’s reliable. He gets good results on a consistent basis, so he’ll do just
fine.”

Andy’s predictions proved right. Davis Cup is a team sport, and it was all about
team work today, as James was able to cover Andy’s back and rejuvenate the
crowd with his tenth victory in Davis Cup.

On Saturday, the Bryan twins will attempt to put the USA into the lead as they
face Pavel and Hanescu in the doubles. The match starts at 1.00pm (local time) 4:00pm (Eastern.)
