Andy Overpowers Monfils

Andy started his 2006 season with a sound win over French teen Gael Monfils 6-2, 6-2 at the AAMI Classic in Kooyong. From the decisive season opener, it appears Andy’s increased training regiment and aggressive mindset are a winning combination.

Defending AAMI Classic champion Roger Federer was upset in his first match, falling to Germany’s Tommy Haas in three sets.
