The concept of an ‘off season’ has morphed more into an ‘off week’ for Andy. Between exhibitions, his charity weekend, media promotions and constant practice and training sessions, Andy’s enthusiasm to participate has left him with only a few days to be completely idle. But very few understand the drive to make each day count more than Andy.
After a successful four day charity weekend, Andy immediately began the USTA training camp at Evert’s Tennis Academy in Boca Raton Florida this week. Joined by Amer Delic, Bobby Reynolds, James Blake, Robby Ginepri and Sebastian Grosjean, Andy is getting in some quality hits and conditioning before the holidays.
He took some time Wednesday to finish a Lacoste print promotion in Miami, and then was back on the courts. Following his prematurely ended 2005 season, the hunger is back in Andy’s eyes. He told several reporters this weekend that one of his big goals for the ‘06 season was to take a run at number one again. Not wasting any time in the ‘off season’, Andy is taking full advantage of every day.
