In case you’re wondering, all of the players in tomorrow’s Genworth Children’s Advantage Classic at the Siegel Center are scheduled to show up.
“I’ve got all of their plane schedules right here,” said Kathleen Bowles, who is in charge of event operations at Virginia Commonwealth University for sponsoring Genworth Financial.
There had been some speculation whether Andre Agassi or Andy Roddick would appear, after they pulled out of a tournament last month. Agassi sprained an ankle in the season-ending Masters Cup in Shanghai, China, and Roddick withdrew from that tournament before it started because of back and shoulder problems.
But both have recovered, according to Genworth officials, and are expected to return serves and volleys tomorrow evening, starting at 7:30 p.m.
Agassi will team with his wife, Steffi Graf, in a mixed doubles match (eight-game pro set) against Roddick and Anna Kournikova, followed by a best-of-three sets exhibition between Agassi and Roddick. The event is sold out. - John Packett
