Andy bounced back from his disappointment yesterday to team up for a doubles victory with James Blake. The first set was yet another tie break for Andy to endure, but today a much happier outcome! He and James took the breaker to give themselves a one set advantage over Thomas Johansson and Max Mirnyi.
However the American duo could not keep the momentum going into the second set and went a break down early. Despite battling hard in the set they could not get back on level terms and lost a second break to lose the set 6-3.
The third set was a tight encounter with many crucial break points against both teams. But it was Andy and James who finally made the breakthrough at 4-4 when they broke Mirnyi/Johansson to serve out the match at 5-4.
After their 7-6, 3-6, 6-4 win Andy and James will next face the experienced French pairing of Michael Llodra and Fabrice Santoro, the number four seeds.
