No one said the 300th win would be easy. Andy is set to face Croatian Ivo Karlovic in the second round of the Masters Series Madrid. Karlovic, the tallest man on the ATP tour at a staggering 6′10″, took out Britain’s Greg Rusedski 6-7(5), 7-6(2), 7-6(3) to set up the third meeting with Andy.
Andy leads Karlovic 2-0 in their ‘who has the bigger serve’ matches. Both meetings were this past year at tournaments where Andy was eventually crowned champion. Andy first took out Karlovic in the quarterfinals in D.C, 6-7,7-5,6-4, and repeated at the Queen’s Club final; 7-6, 7-6. To continue his success, Andy and Team Roddick will set a game plan to combat Karlovic’s aggressive serve and volley strategy.
As the featured evening match, the two are scheduled to battle on Madrid Arena court not before 8:00 pm (Madrid time), 2:00 pm (EST).
