It’s official, ranked No. 3 in the Indesit ATP 2005 Race, Andy qualified for the Tennis Masters Cup Shanghai today.
The numbers don’t lie. After crunching the points following last week’s tournaments, it was determined that Andy is guaranteed to finish the year in the Top 7 of the race which earns him a space in the $4.45 million Masters Cup for the third straight year. Andy reached the semifinals of the Tennis Masters Cup Houston in both 2003 and 2004.
With only three weeks of the regular season remaining, anticipation for Tennis Masters Cup Shanghai is building. As of today, Andy is among four singles players who are have been guaranteed a spot in the multi-millions dollar battle set to take place in Qi Zhong stadium. Andy shares the honor with Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Marat Safin. The remaining spots will be decided by the final five ATP tournaments of the season.
