Double Duty For Andy In Madrid

The Tennis Masters Series in Madrid starting on Monday kicks off Andy’s indoor European season, this autumn. The draw ceremony was held on Sunday, and Andy has been granted a bye in the first round. Seeded second to Rafael Nadal, Andy will face either Britain’s Greg Rusedski, or a qualifier in the second round. Andy shares his quarter of the draw with other seeds, Nalbandian, Johansson, and Hrbaty.

Andy, who arrived in Madrid on Saturday, was seen on the practice courts warming up his strokes in front of a crowd at the Nuevo Rockodromo on Sunday.

Andy will also be teaming up with Davis Cup team mate, James Blake for the doubles competition. We anticipate that Blake, hot off his first career title in Europe at the Stockholm Open, and Andy will have some fun sharing the court. In the first round, the pair has been pitched against Thomas Johansson (SWE) and doubles expert, Max Mirnyi (BLR).
