Ken Meyerson is Andy’s charismatic agent, and President of the SFX Sports Group Tennis Division. AR.com recently caught up with Ken to learn more about Andy’s off court developments. He was able to tell us what Andy’s got coming up in the pipeline. “Babolat, as you know, has come out with Andy’s signature shoe which he wore for the first time in Cincinnati and then for the first time on clay in Belgium.

Andy is also following in the footsteps of fellow pros Andre Agassi and Roger Federer and releasing his own signature fragrance. He signed the deal with Parlux Fragrances Inc. and they are expecting Andy’s special fragrance to be released before Spring 2006. It is still being developed, but Ken was able to tell us “Andy has already chosen the scent and bottle. In terms of publicity, we know that they are putting 20 percent of their total sales into their marketing efforts”.

Andy shares Ken’s enthusiasm for the partnership with Parlux Fragrances Inc. “I was told scent is the strongest sense tied to memory, so I’m jazzed to share input on something that can create such a lasting impression. Most people know I like to be an original both on and off the court, and I feel fragrance can be such a personal expression. It will be exciting to see what we come up with,” Andy explained earlier this year.

Ken was also pleased to say how excited he is about the launch of Club Roddick 2.0. The new and updated version will see exclusive news and cool videos, bringing Andy’s fans even closer to him. Ken enthused “I feel that this time around we will provide Club Roddick members a product that they will be comfortable with and excited.”

Ken’s job also includes the time consuming task of managing Andy’s off court appearances. The week before the US Open was a busy time for him. They had lots of promotional work to do ahead of the Open, but Ken says this is a normal occurrence, “The week before the US Open has historically always been a busy time. This year believe it or not we actually had less going on than last year. It seemed like more because of the two TV campaigns (Amex and Lexus).”

Part of Andy’s build up to the US Open saw him film two commercials for Amex and Lexus. Andy has dabbled in acting before, appearing in many commercials, an episode of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and hosting Saturday Night Live. Andy’s acting skills are something which has impressed Ken greatly. “Andy has big time talent”, Ken professed before adding “It will be interesting to see what he pursues after his tennis career!”
