Dawning a light blue Lacoste polo, Andy rolled out of bed early Thursday morning for at 8:00 appearance on The Today Show.
Co-host Matt Lauer wasted little time before asking Andy about the foot injury he incurred last weekend in the Cincinnati finals. “I’ve gotten some practice sessions in and it feels good,” Andy reassured his fans in the plaza.
After showing some clips from this years Wimbledon, Matt teased, “Do you know this guy Roger Federer?” Andy laughed, “I focus on my tournament, maybe he (Federer) is good enough to look forward (in the draw),” he said with a grin.
For those of you who woke up early to catch the show, you saw a sneak preview of Andy’s new AmEx Campaign, ‘Andy’s Mojo’. “I have to find it before the Open,” Andy explained about the context of the commercial series. Already in the groove, a few fans in the plaza were decked out in ‘mojo’ t-shirts. Later in the morning, Serena Williams also appeared on the show.
South Florida fans expecting to see Andy on The Today Show received an overload of hurricane information as regular programming was cancelled due to the approach of hurricane Katrina.
