In addition to uniting tennis during the summer hard court season, The US Open series will have a lasting impact with the help of American Express.
American Express will donate $50 to the USTA Tennis & Education Foundation’s “Aces for Kids” for every ace served during match play on the main court of the 10 US Open Series tournaments. Donations are doubled for aces served on the famed Arthur Ashe Stadium during the US Open.
“Aces for Kids” strives to promote healthy, active lifestyles by providing disadvantaged, at-risk children the opportunity to learn to play tennis and improve their academic skills in a structured format.
Andy is no stranger to raising money with his blistering serve. In the past he has participated in “Aces for Armstrong”, matching his aces in Davis Cup Competition with a personal donation to Lance Armstrong’s fundraiser.
As of the end of last week’s Western & Southern Financial Group Masters, the Summer of Aces initiative had raised $106,850 for 2137 aces. You can follow the fundraiser online at www.usopenseries.com.
