Roddick And Hewitt In The Semifinals

Tennis draws are structured so the top seeds to not meet until the later rounds. It appears to work very well as this is the fifth meeting in a row for Andy and Lleyton Hewitt in the semifinals. Andy has a 1-6 record against Hewitt, defeating him in the 2004 Queen’s Club semis in London.

Both players have held the rank of number one in the world. Presently, Andy is number 5 and Lleyton is number 3. They both like hard courts and know each others game quite well, so this should prove to be an interesting match.

Saturday’s match is scheduled on Center Court not before 6:30 pm Eastern, but will not be televised until 10:00 pm Eastern on ESPN2.

Here are some more stats on Hewitt.

Birth place: Adelaide, Australia
Residence: Adelaide, Australia
Height: 5′11″ (180 cm)
Weight: 170 lbs. (77kg)

Turned Pro: 1998

Go Andy!
