Andy came up with some big serves when he had to.” Andy hit 15 aces for the night, one reaching 142 mph. “After playing a great second set tie-breaker, Andy finally broke Ferrero’s serve in the second game of the third set. Andy started controlling points with his forehand and did a great job of finishing points at the net,” noted Coach Dean. Andy won the break with a backhand volley and never looked back.

Today’s opponent, Juan Ignacio Chela (ARG) was in the top ten with Andy in 2002 and ranked as high as number 7. His is currently ranked number 36. The two have faced off five times, with Chela winning only the first match in 2002. They most recently met in Washington DC where Andy went on to take home the title for the second time. For their sixth meeting today, they will be playing on Center Court not before 1:00 pm (Eastern), following the Hewitt/Ancic match.
