Andy is set to play Saturday, August 6th at 2pm against Thailand’s Paradorn Srichaphan. The match will hopefully be played as scheduled if scattered thunderstorms hold off. The good news about a rain delay would be the cool front following the storm, meaning a match without record-breaking heat and unbearable humidity.
Srichaphan turned pro in 1997 and kicked off his career against the legendary Jim Courier. Since then, his highest ranking was 9 in 2003, and is currently number 56. Andy and Srichaphan first met in this tournament four years ago in 2001, with Andy winning in two sets. Andy has a 5-1 record against Srichaphan, with the only match lost having been in Paris for the 2003 Master’s Series.
Here are more statistics on Srichaphan:
Birthdate: 6/14/1979
Birthplace: Bangkok, Thailand
Residence: Bangkok, Thailand
Height: 6′1′’ (185 cm)
Weight: 180 lbs (81 kg)
Plays: Right-handed
Turned Pro: 1997
James Blake is scheduled to play a semifinal match at 7pm. If he wins, it is going to be an All-American, previous-champions battle to claim yet another Legg Mason title. Stay tuned for more Legg Mason information.
