Next, Andy will take on Ivo Karlovic in the Legg Mason Tennis Classic Quarterfinals. Croatia’s “Dr. Ivo” upset 11th seed Greg Rusedski 7-6(4), 6-2 yesterday to reach the quarterfinals. Andy and Ivo have only played once before, in a memorable final at this year’s Queen’s Club, where Andy defeated Karlovic 7-6 (7), 7-6 (4) to take his third straight Stella Artois Championship.
Karlovic is the tallest player (6′10″, 2.08m) to rank in the Top 100 in the history of ATP Rankings (since 1973). We are confident that Coach Dean Goldfine is brewing up a more detailed game plan than AR.com’s suggested strategy to ‘hit at his feet’.
The two are scheduled to face off, today 2nd on Stadium, not before 3:00 pm. Television coverage of the Legg Mason Tennis Classic begins Friday live on ESPN 2, 3:00pm – 5:00 pm and tape delayed on The Tennis Channel, from 8:30 pm – 11:00 pm.
