This month, Tennis Magazine launched the premier issue of SMASH Magazine, featuring who else but Andy on its cover.

SMASH is an edgy, oversized magazine geared towards junior and collegiate level players. It fuses fashion trends, music, entertainment, and pop culture with the tour’s most sought after pros. The colorful layout, clever writing, and off the wall topics had Ar.com hooked after one read.

SMASH Magazine’s Editor, James Martin, had several reasons for placing Roddick on the first cover. “Andy Roddick was a natural pick to be on the cover of the debut issue of SMASH. He’s hip, he’s an amazing talent, he’s the All-American,” James explained. “Juniors can relate to him probably more than any other player out there -well, except he can serve at 150-plus miles an hour. But otherwise, he keeps it real and wears his heart on his sleeve. What’s not to dig about him?”

In the feature “Andy Roddick, Life in the Fast Lane,” SMASH takes its readers to Andy’s Austin house, behind the scenes of his upcoming Bus Tour, to his recent Champions for Charity Weekend, and more.

Currently SMASH is published quarterly. For more information on subscriptions and the first edition of SMASH magazine featuring Andy, visit (will go live in mid August) www.smashtennismag.com

Stay tuned to AR.com for more of Andy in the media.
