Andy Preparing For French Open Assault

On Friday, the draw for Roland Garros will be made, so this week Andy is putting the finishing touches on his preparation for the French Open. Already on site, Andy had a practice session Tuesday with his coach, Dean Goldfine, and trainer, Doug Spreen, on the Suzanne- Lenglen court.

With clay on his shoes, alligators on his clothes, and finals on his mind, Andy recently stated, “I know for a fact that I’m in better shape than I’ve been before going into the French. I’m enjoying it a lot more. It’s a challenge for me but I’m thinking more optimistically about it.”

As a final tune-up following his clay tournaments in Houston, Rome and Hamburg, Andy will play two exhibition matches this week on Thursday and Friday at the Paris Country Club at the Rueil-Malmaison. Andy’s match on Thursday will be at 5pm, Central European time (11am, EST), against the winner of Thomas Enqvist vs. Gael Monfils. Details of Andy’s second exhibition match on Friday are undecided at this time.

Other players participating in the exhibition matches at the Paris Country Club include Andre Agassi, Mark Philippoussis and new French sensation Richard Gasquet.

This pre-French Open event will be televised live on Eurosport and Eurosport 2. Click this link for the Eurosport television schedule.
