Hamburg Draw And Order Of Play Announced

Andy will play Nicholas Massu in his first match at the Master Series Hamburg on Monday May 9 on Center Court. Andy’s order of play is fourth match on with play beginning at 11:00 am (CEST), 5:00 am (EST).

Roddick who is seeded second to Roger Federer this week has never played Massu on clay. The two have only met once, in 2003 at the Madrid Masters where the Olympic Gold Medallist beat Andy in straight sets 7-6, 6-2.

Despite Massu’s current place of 137 in the ATP race, his statistics can be deceiving. Massu proved this summer in his gold medal marathon match that it’s not over until it’s over. Andy will have to be patient with the Chilean. If Andy evens the score, he will face the winner of Ivo Karlovic and a qualifier in the second round.

Andy shares his quarter of the draw with a dangerous sixth seed, Spanish phenom Rafael Nadal. Andy enters this match with a 7-1 record on clay for the season. Good luck on getting number eight!
