River Oakes Exhibition

As part of his preparation for the clay court season, Andy is teaming up with fellow Davis Cup teammate and high-school friend, Mardy Fish, to plant their feet in the dirt early! The two pals are participating in an exhibition match at the River Oaks Country Club in Houston on Thursday, April 7. The event is a prelude to the U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championships, which begins April 22 at the West Side Tennis Club in Houston.

Both Andy and Mardy have been successful at the Claycourts. Mardy won the doubles title with James Blake in 2004 while Andy has won the singles title in 2001 and 2002. Both Andy and Mardy have entered this year’s competition.

The River Oaks exhibition begins at 7 (CST) and will be a best of three sets tiebreak match. Since Andy and Mardy know each other so well, the estimated 5,000 fans in attendance should be well entertained!
